“Uncontrollably Fond” ep 20 ~ Joon Young:”Can you kill her?”

In the final episode of Uncontrollably Fond Joon Young and Eul spend all their time together until the end. They move in together to the house Joon Young build for them. But soon after Joon Young’s memory started to play jokes on them. He doesn’t recognizes even his mother. But they are together until the end…

Personal thought: I don’t know if I changed or the kdrama’s aren’t what they used to be. When I started watching kdrama’s they used to have some memorable once like Coffee prince and Boys over Flowers. Now I can’t seem to watch another drama as memorable as those…even if the actors are good. I could see that both Kim Woo Bin and Suzy improved a lot their acting, but the way the drama was written…didn’t impress me that much. It started good, but something went missing on the way….

It’s been some time since I’ve noticed that korean drama writer and producers seem to want to make drama’s that foreigners will like and those drama’s are losing their good vibes…

Honestly I don’t know why they’ve made Jeong Eun and Ji Tae second leads. Their stories were like “let’s fill in the time with something boring”. Meantime they didn’t give enough time to Ha Ru and Jik. Personally Ha Ru and Jik ‘s time was funny. They should’ve been second leads!

If I were to note this drama it will be like this:

  • the way the actors played their roles = 9 out of 10
  • the way it was written = 5 or 6 out of 10…or less…

Episode 20

Joon Young remembered that he left and Eul remained at the house he build for the two of them. He went there and found Eul with high fever. She was saying that she wants to die so she and Joon Young would be together even after he dies. Upset Joon Young takes Eul to the hospital.  While the doctor was taking care of Eul, Joon Young looked around Eul’s phone. He watched Eul’s videos and realized that her biggest fear is that one day she will wake up and Joon Young won’t be there anymore.

Joon Young:”Can you kill her?”

Eul was discharged! On their way home she avoids Joon Young. Suddenly he stops and starts screaming everything that’s on his mind. He doesn’t want to die. He still has a lot to do. He wants to live. He just started to live his life… but there is nothing to do…

Joon Young:”I don’t want to die, so save me! I want to live!”

The video with Jeong Eun admitting in front of Joon Young that she killed No Eul’s father and that Choi Hyun Joon covered for her was given to the police and media. After the news appeared, the citizen signed a petition for No Eul’s father’s case to be reopened and the guilty people to pay for the wrongdoings.  The video was turned in by Choi Hyun Joon. He also was investigated and he admitted his faults.

Joon Young and Eul also found out what happened. Eul trusted Choi Hyun Joon and she gave him the video. Now she is happy that she did like that seeing that Choi Hyun Joon didn’t cover everything up again and this time he revealed it all and is paying for it.

Eul:”This is the world I want to believe in!”

Eul bought a dog house for Joon Young’s dog, Pororo. She wants the dog to come and live with them. Eul took medicine for her dog allergy and wants to keep Pororo even when Joon Young won’t be around.

Choi Hyun Joon came home. Eun Soo can’t believe that Choi Hyun Joon is admitting everything instead of using his power to cover everything up again. Choi Hyun Joon is the man she made, she gave him the power he has and she even tried to kill her own son in order to protect him and now Choi Hyun Joon is willing to lose all that power. She can’t accept that so Eun Soo asked Choi Hyun Joon to leave the house. Ji Tae is shocked to hear his mother saying that she is the one to blame for trying to kill him.  Ji Tae is accepting to let go of Choi Hyun Joon after finding out the kind of monster his mother became. But Choi Hyun Joon won’t leave Eun Soo. Monster or not, Eun Soo is his wife so Choi Hyun Joon will take care of her until the end.

Ji Tae went to see Joon Young, but unfortunately Joon Young lost his memory. Sometimes Joon Young doesn’t know who Eul is, sometimes he doesn’t know who he is. While talking, Ji Tae told Joon Young how their relationship was, but Ji Tae uses that from now on they could become friends. Ji Tae wants to take care and love Joon Young like an older brother.

Young Ok went to see Joon Young. He doesn’t remember his mother and Eul isn’t there. Because they are alone and Joon Young doesn’t remember her, Young Ok cooked Joon Young’s favorite dish. He enjoyed the dish and even said that “it tastes the same as his mother’s” .

While enjoying the dish, Joon Young suddenly stopped. He held his mother’s hand and apologized for not recognizing her. Young Ok brags about the thinks Gook Young and Man Ok brought her and the ring Jeong Sik gave her when he proposed. She is doing that to let Joon Young be at easy knowing that she won’t be left alone when he won’t be alive.

Young Ok:”Thank you for being my son.”

After Young Ok left, Joon Young and Eul took some pictures together. They enjoy their time together now the Joon Young finally remember his life. But Joon Young looks really tired. He puts his head on Eul’s shoulder and falls asleep…he never woke up…

Few days later, Joon Young’s friends found a video he recorded before he died.

Eul continued with her life as a producer, but now she doesn’t give in to money like she used to.

I also think the dramas are somewhat less memorable… I still love their Sageuk dramas though, and there are still some REALLY interesting modern day dramas
